Beginning in 2018, Virginia Tech implemented new fees for incoming 鶹APP in engineering ($2,000 per year), architecture and design ($1,500 per year), building construction ($2,000 per year), business ($2,550 per year), and agriculture ($750 per year). These fees apply only to incoming 鶹APP in these disciplines.

international 鶹APP

International 鶹APP who will be entering Virginia Tech as F-1 student visa holders must show evidence of sufficient funds to cover their first year of study at Virginia Tech before the required I-20 immigration form can be issued by the university. The I-20 will be needed for the F-1 student visa interview.

International 鶹APP who will be entering Virginia Tech as J-1 bilateral exchange 鶹APP must show at least $8,200 USD for each semester they wish to study at Virginia Tech before the required DS-2019 form can be issued by the university. The DS-2019 will be needed for the J-1 student visa interview.

Although U.S. Immigration Service regulations permit F-1 and J-1 student visa holders to work on campus, employment opportunities on campus are extremely limited. F-1 and J-1 visa holders are not allowed to work off campus without work authorization. Any off-campus employment MUST be approved by the International Student Advisor at the university and/or USCIS.

The following is a list of estimated expenses you can expect to incur as an undergraduate at Virginia Tech during the 2021-2022 school year (nine months, or two semesters, in length). These are expenses for a single student (you should add $5,750 for a spouse and $2,750 for each dependent child). These estimates and subject to change. Payment is required at the beginning of each of the two semesters and may be paid online or with a paper check. The check must be written in U.S. dollars, on a U.S. bank or a foreign bank with a U.S. correspondent. Please make the check payable to Treasurer, Virginia Tech. Tuition bills for Fall Semester will be emailed in July and payments will be due in early August.

What is HB 886?

HB (House Bill) 886 was adopted during the regular sessions of the General Assembly in 2014. The bill requires SCHEV to disseminate to each public high school and each institution of higher education in the Commonwealth for which the Council has student-level data a link on its website to certain published postsecondary education and employment data. Further, it requires each institution of higher education to provide the link and each local school board to provide annual notice on its website to each enrolled high school student and his parents about the availability of such data.
